Adidas Men's Dame 5 are a top ranked basketball shoe among consumers with great feedback for style, comfort and performance. As one of Amazon's top selling basketball shoes, its sales ranking still does not seem to do it justice, as consumers have almost nothing but positive things to say.
The Good:
Support and comfort are a constant thread throughout the consumer reviews. The shoe, with its ¾ collar, boasts great lockdown of the midfoot and heel which is improved even further by the addition pads that adidas provides that allow you to really customize the fit. In addition, Adidas uses a Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) support along the base of the shoe that adds to the lateral stability for quick directional changes.
The soul uses Adidas Bounce cushioning throughout which provides a springy, yet responsive feel that consumers love. Combined with the herring bone rubber tread, these shoes provide exceptional grip for both indoor and outdoor courts.
The Bad:
Being a good shoe on outdoor courts means the soul is a little harder, but only seems to really effect performance on dusty courts while playing indoors. We did find some reviews where customers said this improved after a few uses and was only mentioned a few times in the hundreds of reviews we scoured.
The mesh versions don’t seem to show any difference in performance, but they are more prone to show dirt, and are obviously not as easy to clean as their synthetic counterparts.
We did find a couple complaints regarding premature failure, but with so many raving about their quality, this could be a bad pair (which happens), or simply the player not lacing them or sizing them correctly and allowing the foot to move beyond the soul itself.
Sizing:
Sized a little large and a lot of people recommend going down a half size unless you have a wider foot, than you may want to get the actual size.
Summary:
A great shoe with excellent support, traction and looks that will make it one of our top shoes for the year.
